Banner Lane Supports Veteran Craig ‘Lewy’ Lewis in London MarathonFundraiser

Banner Lane proudly supports veteran Craig ‘Lewy’ Lewis, who is running this year’s London
Marathon with 45.7kg on his back. This effort honors the 457 servicemen and women who
lost their lives while serving in Afghanistan, and he is raising money for the Royal British
Legion (RBL).
Lewy, a brave and remarkable individual, is known for his dedication and resilience. Having
had the pleasure of working alongside him, we encourage everyone to support his cause.
Banner Lane has donated £200, contributing to Lewy’s impressive fundraising total of
£7,467, far surpassing his target of £4,570—£10 for every fallen troop in Afghanistan.
“The support for this challenge is truly humbling and makes all the pain so worth it!” Lewy
expressed.
Lewy served in the Household Cavalry for six years and remains committed to supporting the
Armed Forces community. He is an active branch member in Newton Abbot and chairs the
Military Network at Microsoft, his employer. “Microsoft and the RBL have a very strong
relationship as a corporate fundraiser and proudly raised £10k last year,” Lewy shared. “I
hope my personal efforts go some way to further strengthen that relationship and look
forward to going bigger and better this year!”
After leaving service, Lewy received support from the RBL, which inspired him to run the
London Marathon to give back. “I am not at all ashamed to say that I received therapy after I
left the Army, and that wouldn’t have been possible without incredible charities like the RBL.
This challenge is a very small way for me to pay back those thanks.”
