With significant focus on the current unfolding crisis in Ukraine it’s worth raising awareness of other global ongoing crisis that may have fallen from the public view. After 30 years of brutal civil war, the innocent people of Somalia are falling into the grips of starvation as one of the worst draughts in a decade hits the country. If violence had not continued for so long, vital infrastructure and policy could have been instated to guard against the damage climate change is inflicting on this country.
We only hope that the crisis in Ukraine does not prevail into a prolonged insurgency similar to that of Somalia.
